In the heart of the Mediterranean, PVC windows for villa “CERTIFIED "A CLASS”

In the famous tourist area of Marina di Ginosa (Ta), in a residential location, we installed FINESTRE NURITH in PVC with a high level of energy savings for a contemporary style villa.

Work has been carried out by the “Building Engineering” office of Engineer Donato Pastore of  Ginosa (TA)

The villa, completely exposed to the South, needed windows with glass panels suitable to guarantee just the right thermal exchange, therefore glass was installed to limit the amount of incoming heat and at the same time guaratee winter comfort, avoid dispersion.

Thanks to the attention to details, research into the most adequate solutions, the PVC windows of the DOMUS range succeeded in achieving the ENERGY CLASS LEVEL "A".

In order to achieve this class level, technical choices were require for the whole building during the development phase:

Orientation: vital for a villa in a Mediterranean climate just a short distance from the sea, in this case the right depth of the porticos, the choice of 4S glass, allowing the glass surfaces to be in the shade as much as possible during the summer months, on the contrary in the winter they allow for heating of the internal environments.

The following picture illustrates a layout and section of the DOMUS window profile by FINESTRE NURITH

  • IMaterials; as technology advances, it is necessary to be up to date with innovation: insulating and certified materials, outer concrete protection, PVC NURITH windows with an Uw level of up to 0,92 W/m2K
  • Colours and finishes: they are very important as sun rays on the entire building affect global thermal performance, therefore the choice of colour resulted in using light shades, also in observance of the environment and architectural context of the area;
  • Thermal bridges: as indicated in the protocol CasaClima and the Regional Puglia law n° 13 of 2008 (a law that promotes and provides environmental incentives and energy savings - the Puglia Region) thermal brdiges have been completely eliminated with relative technical/architectural solutions;
  • A natural system for sun blinds: treest with fugacious leaves have been inserted, providing protection in the summer from sun on the West of the house, on the contrary in the winter allowing for sun rays to pass through, heating the home.
  • THE OBJECTIVE?

REDUCING CONSUMPTION

The main objective of the design study was to reduce energy consumption, even more so in Puglia, where in the summer temperatures reach 35 to 38°C.

Energy requirements for this kind of building have fallen thanks not only to the choice of the type of PVC windows but also the layout of the windows.  The project focuses on the human element and on the abilities of the owners who can actively intervene in energy savings of the building and create their own conditions of thermohygrometric wellness. Therefore the most energivorous elements, such as air conditioning, have not been installed, assuring just the same the best living conditions and comfort with the huge advantage for the environment as well as savings.
