The water tightness test on FINESTRENURITH is illustrated below.
In order to make details neutral, the FINESTRENURITH water tightness test was carried out by authorised institutes.
The FINESTRENURITH water tightness test was carried out according to the norm EN 1027:2000 and reference to EN 12208:1999 by C.N.R. (Consiglio Nazionale per le Ricerche) – I.T.C. (Istituto per le Tecnologie della Costruzione).
NURITH wanted to carry out the water tightness tests in extreme conditions, therefore balcony doors of 160cm in width x 250cm in height (a size that is very unusual for our homes, but chosen to extend the results of smaller windows to the sample tested).
Here are details of the test:
it consists in applying water in a very uneven manner to the externa surface of the test sample, and at the same time increase the pressure applied at predefined regular intervals, during which pressure values and localisation infiltration times were registered, in order to establish the LIMIT OF IMPERMEABILITY of the window.
The method used is “1A” (Products Entirely Exposed), therefore, according to this technical norm, the water jet is aimed directly at the window, a row of nozzles with a distance of 40cm and an average capacity per nozzle of 2 l/min, the axle of the row of nozzles was inclined by 24°, all of this to simulate a strong downpour. The water application was carried out initially without any pressure for 15 minutes then the pressure test was applied for subsequent steps, each one lasting 5 minutes each, with an increase of 50 Pa up to 300 Pa, with increases of 150 Pa until the seal limit of the sample was reached.
The FINESTRENURITH sample subject to the water tightness test was classified: “8A”
