The wind load resistance test by FINESTRENURITH is illustrated below.
In order to make the data as neutral as possible, the wind load resistance test FINESTRENURITH has been performed by authorised institutes.
The FINESTRENURITH wind load resistance test has been performed according to the norm EN 12210:1999 and with reference to EN 12211:2000 by the C.N.R. (Consiglio Nazionale per le Ricerche) – I.T.C. (Istituto per le Tecnologie della Costruzione).
NURITH wanted to perform the wind load resistance tests in extreme conditions, therefore on a balcony door with dimensions of 160cm in width x 250cm in height (unusual dimensions for our homes, but chosen to expand the results to windows of much smaller dimensions than the one tested).
The test specifically consisted of:
reference to the tables indicated below (where values P1, P2, P3 are connected between them by the following relations: P2 = 0,5 P1 and P3 = 1,5 P1).
For complete classification, the following should also be checked:
there shoiuld not be any visible faults during a control carried out in normal visual conditions at a distance of 1 m after both of the first two tests (at P1 and P2);
the sample should remain in good conditions of operation and the increase in air permeability should be less than 20% compared with maximum air permeability permited for the class achieved previously, after both of the two tests (at P1 and P2);
the sample should resist the safety test (at P3) without any detachments or openings and should remain closed (whatever the possibilities of glass replacement and repetition of the test in the case of a specific breakge or in the presence of faults such as movement and/or warpage of accessories and cracks to the frame).
The FINESTRENURIT sample submitted to the wind load resistance test was classified as “B3”
Table 1 - Classes of wind load
A window is also classified according to the maximum front arrow established during the deformation test (P1).
The higher the value of the arrow, the poorer is the level of classification (table 2)
Table 2 - Relative front arrow
Wind loads and the corresponding relative front arrow should be combined in a global classification as indicated in the table.
